SERIALS Gone Full-Length

It’s been an exciting few weeks for the SERIALS crew, as multiple shows that started a serials pilots and ran with us have gone full length!

We love getting to see our writers take an idea that started with us and grow it into something that stands on it’s own, it’s a testament to the SERIALS development format, giving artists space to try things and explore new narratives in a supportive competitive environment.

Sybil Creepe’s House of Mysteries

We're thrilled to celebrate SERIALS playwright/actor extraordinaire Laurel Andersen's latest venture! Laurel's new play Sybil Creepe’s House of Mysteries will have a reading at The Chain Theatre on September 20th at 2pm.

Directed by fellow SERIALS alum Erin Reynolds. The production is packed with familiar faces from our community - SAS, Eric Berger, Arielle Gonzalez, and Yvonne Pruitt are all bringing their talents to this mysterious new work.

A quick little run down for those of you unfamiliar with this piece:

Young scholar Arthur Tuck is on a quest for a magical artifact when he finds himself lost in a thunderstorm — good thing there’s a foreboding Gothic manor to shelter him! What follows is a queer, romantic-fantasy-comedy featuring as many Gothic lit tropes as five actors can (in)humanly embody.

The Complete Adventures of C. Lingus, Independent Journalist

Another incredible SERIALS success story just wrapped up! Paige Esterly's The Complete Adventures of C. Lingus, Independent Journalist had its sold-out one-night run at The Tank on August 23rd, featuring an all-SERIALS cast of Christine Pollnow, Georgia Kate Cohen, Natalia Mar Urzua, Stephanie Orta-Vázquez, Irina Kaplan, and Nikki Cannon.

Originally developed as a 7-part episodic series with SERIALS, this now full length play was staged, teched, and performed in 7 DAYS, talk about a tight turnaround! Congrats to this amazing team of unbelievably talented artists.

Let’s talk about NPX (Baby)

Let’s talk about you and me, and Sarah Jae Leiber and Cody Hom for adding their serials to NPX!

Baby, It’s You and Science Project were two beloved serials that unfortunately didn’t get to finale with us (as it often goes with SERIALS). Luckily for EVERYONE, you can now read both of these serials in their current entirety on New Play Exchange! Feeling the itch for some Beatles or AI-gone-wrong reading? Look no further.
